Unlike us humans, our beloved pets are not able to tell us that they are feeling unwell in any way. And many illnesses, especially in the early stages, show subtle or no signs at all. That’s why routine health checks combined with diagnostic testing are so important—especially for senior pets or those with ongoing medical conditions.
Our in-house diagnostics allow us to investigate internal health quickly and in-depth, even when your pet appears outwardly healthy.
In-House Pathology and Blood Testing
Blood tests give us insight into how your pet’s organs and systems are functioning. Within just 10 minutes, we can test and assess:
Liver and kidney function
Pancreatic health
Red and white blood cell counts
Electrolyte balance and hydration levels
Signs of inflammation or infection
Monitoring chronic disease progression or treatment response
For pets aged seven and up, we recommend annual blood screenings to help detect age-related conditions early and manage them more effectively.
Urine and Faecal Testing
These tests provide valuable information about your pet’s digestion, hydration, and overall organ function.
Urine tests can detect urinary tract infections, kidney issues, diabetes, and crystal formation.
Faecal tests help us identify parasites, bacterial imbalances, and signs of gastrointestinal issues.
Both are simple, non-invasive ways to support a thorough health check and are often used alongside blood testing to get a full picture of your pet’s well-being.
Heartworm Testing
Heartworm is a serious, potentially fatal disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Even if your pet is on prevention, we recommend annual testing to ensure they're protected. Early detection is essential for successful treatment.
FIV & FeLV Testing (Cats)
We offer quick, in-house tests for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV)—two common and contagious viruses in cats. These tests are especially important for outdoor cats, rescue cats, or those living in multi-cat households.
Parvovirus & Canine Coronavirus Testing
For puppies or adult dogs showing signs of vomiting, diarrhoea, or lethargy, we can run rapid tests for Canine Parvovirus and Canine Coronavirus to rule out or confirm highly contagious illnesses quickly. Early diagnosis leads to faster care and better outcomes.
Ultrasound, Digital X-rays & Ophthalmology
In addition to lab tests, our clinic offers in-house digital X-rays and ultrasounds to assess your pet’s internal structures, and ophthalmic equipment to investigate eye conditions. These tools are essential for diagnosing injuries, and organ issues, and monitoring ongoing conditions—all without referring you elsewhere.
